Christmas, Snow & Heat
Happy New Year Friends!! Halfway through February for my first post of the year isn’t bad. I always go MIA around the holidays and the first part of the year. It’s always so busy. I hope you are all having a great start to your 2023.
We had a good Christmas around home. Ashlyn was sick on Christmas this year, so we had a quiet one at home. Which other than her being sick, it was kind of nice not to run around and rush places and hurry through our Christmas morning to get going. Chika did get presents, but she preferred the boxes and paper of course.
We have been very lucky this winter. It’s been warmer than usual and so far, not much snow at all. Had a few icy days. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we will finish winter out lightly.
The snow is pretty but that’s about all I like about it. I’m not a fan of the cold, the snow, the shoveling, the freezing rain and high winds.
Before we got our fireplace, we used one of those oil filled heaters. The oil heater actually put out more heat, but the electric fireplace is nicer and more convenient. Chika’s vote is for the oil heater.
The fireplace blows the warm air higher up so it’s above her and she can’t feel it quite like the other one. Chika got nice and toasty everyday by the oil heater.
She’d nap. Flip side to side or end to end to properly heat all around herself.
The cutest was when she’d stick her paws under it! haha
Double paws on this day. Must have been extra chilly.
I hope to be back more frequently now. Will be back with you soon.
