Summer to Winter

On Monday, I sweat my butt off as I cleaned the pool. The water was too cold to get in to do it, which is my preferred method. Scrubbing the walls and floor and vacuuming is much harder on the arms from the outside and it was hot ! In the 90’s and humid.

I had planted this plant earlier this summer. At Menard’s it had butterflies all around it, the lady said it attracts them. It’s not a butterfly bush. It’s a plant that I forget the name of but it never had any butterflies all summer long. Until today !!!  This was my little friend during the whole cleaning of the pool.

By the very next afternoon, freaking winter had arrived !!!!!  This is absolute crap. CRAP !!  I feel like it was a short pool season. We had a wet spring and a cool late summer. Only really having a good hot July. I feel as though I’ve been ripped off.

Back to the butterfly. Something I just learned. Those 2 black spots that I circled in the below picture, those indicate this is a male butterfly. Yes ! Isn’t that interesting. I never knew that. The veins/lines are thinner as well. A female does not have those 2 black spots, and they also have thicker veins/lines.

Well friends, enjoy winter. It’s here. Full force. It’s 61 today. I know it’s probably not that bad, but coming out of a 90+ hot & humid day, it feels awful.  I kicked off winter with hot chocolate last night.

I’m not sure what I’ll do once winter really does arrive. Whine I’m sure. haha

Do you prefer summer or winter?

Did you know that tidbit about the butterflies?

Is it still summer where you live? Can I move in with you?

Huh, I never knew that about how to tell a male/female butterfly. Learned something new today. Thanks. It looks like the boys do not like cold weather any more than we do! Let’s move! Oh and in a couple months 61 will feel warm booooooooooo
