Makit & Bakit Horse Window Art

Hello Friends. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been on here. It’s about to get real crafty around here since we are home due to the coronavirus pandemic. We are actually kind of liking our time at home (not the reason for it or the consequences effected by it) but forced time together at home and are sure making the most of it.

A close friend gave Ashlyn one of those Makit & Bakit Window Art things. I remember those as a kid and you don’t hardly see them much anymore. So I was pretty excited when she got this and knew exactly what it was.

This part can be a bit tedious but I had a jewelry bead tweezer and scoop that helped a lot.

She had a lot of fun doing it and thought it was pretty neat. She actually has done them years ago but must not have remembered it. She had a lot of beads left over so she made her own shapes out of tin foil. A heart and poop emoji.

Getting ready to go in the oven.

The final melted heart and poop. These two just have no hook to hang them but I’m sure she’ll come up with something.

The final melted horse !!  Looks great doesn’t it?

I really should have picked a window without a screen in it to take this picture. Oh well. You still get to see it.

During this time of uncertainty, we’ll be playing games, getting some odd jobs done around the house, organizing, reading, getting our pool deck finished up, doing homework and maybe some walks and bike rides while it’s still allowed.  You probably won’t hear me mention the corona epidemic on here after today. Not because I don’t care but because I think we need breaks from talking about it and I like this space to be a place of happiness and not debate of a tough topic right now. Take care everyone. Find the positive during this time when everything seems upside down. Be nice, Be caring. Be grateful for what we do have. The only way through this is to do what we are told, follow the stay at home guidelines as much as possible and be kind, positive and strong while sticking it out as a team that is secluded. Throw the negative by the wayside, find the good. No matter how hard things seem, there’s always good.

I still do the Makeit Bakit Kits. Just frustrating because you can’t buy the crystals so you have more color selection. Though I do have some saved from over the years in baby food jars. You can get these at Hobby Lobby or Amazon has some cute ones too

Oh shoot, I guess we could have saved the extra for a different color selections later. Whoops, I’ll remember that next time. I’ll have to remember that they have them at Hobby Lobby and I just completely forget about them. And good ol Amazon. They’d be great for sticking in with a birthday gift, or little extra at Easter or any holiday really.
