Johny Apple Peeler – Review

Santa got us a Johny Apple Peeler for Christmas and it’s taken me 3 months to finally tell you guys about it. I’ll keep my chatting to a minimum (yes your welcome) since there are several picture’s. This post includes an affiliate link at no cost to consumers.

This thing sure has made pie making, apple sauce making and apple crisp making much much quicker and easier. All I’ve tried on it so far are apples.

I don’t like anything that is time consuming or that slows any process down. This is the opposite, it’s been wonderful. Red part is cast iron, rest is stainless and suction based. It won’t suction to my counter-tops but will my glass table top. My counters have that ever so slight bumpiness to them, which prevents full suction. But you can easily hold the base and crank with the other hand.

You can: peel, core and slice. Or any combo. Peel-Slice. Core-Slice. Peel-Core-Slice. What ever suits you.

The only warning I would throw out there is there are 3 blades. 3 very sharp blades. So um, keep the kiddos and/or fingers away from them. Even just grabbing it wrong, you could touch a blade. That part is a little dangerous for the young helpers.

I find it ironic that a certain child does not care for the peel on the apple.

Until it comes off in one big strand, then it suddenly becames fun to eat.

Look at that! One apple done already.

I hate cluttering up my cupboards with unnecessary and rarely used gadgets. I think this one is definitely an asset.

Do you have a Johny Apple Peeler?

What else besides apples do you use it for?

Send any and all apple crisp my way please. My FAVE.

I've never tried one of these peelers before, but it looks like it would be a huge timesaver, especially if you're making a recipe like apple pie!

You are so right !! It's a huge time saver. But a surprise bonus was how evenly sliced they are now, so the pie bakes evenly. I know when I sliced them up by hand, they were anything but even. Thanks for stopping by, have a great day.
