Family Shots

Anytime D is home, we always try to get an updated picture. This was very last minute, so location, clothes, weather was all unplanned. Since we probably won’t see him again until Christmas, this updated picture is most likely what will be in the Christmas cards. But there was not enough time to think up a cute card idea in September. So Merry Christmas everyone, you’ll see this in your card in December.

Does anyone have trouble getting there family to focus for 1 simple group photo. Ok maybe a couple since you can’t take just 1.

Look for yourself. They are just OOZING with excitement.

Something about standup photo’s, a little blah. Probably because we don’t put any pizzazz into our standing, we just stand.

Me – “I have a great idea, how about we try a closer one standing.”
Them – “Great.” “Huh.” “Look at my flower.”

“Let’s try one squatting.” I hear no response whatsoever. So I must tell them all to “SQUAT so I can focus on you.” A is much more excited about her flowers.

I think I like squatting better. I do like sitting too. I’m going to have to google some good family photo poses.

Black and white is not working for me here. I much prefer the bright colors of their clothes and the trees.

A looks very painful in this one. Even the flower has been squeezed over.

This here is my favorite. I love this one.

I wonder if they are thinking “I love by brother” and “I have the greatest sister.” Or if it’s more like “You have a booger” and “I just broke wind on your hand.”

Feeding fish bread at the restaurant. We really don’t know if we are supposed to do this. We’ve seen other people do it though. Monkey see monkey do.

Look. Hard water.

Soft feathery water. Do you know how long it’s taken me to figure that out? Well, it’s been a long time, let me tell you. So I’m humongously impressed.

The black and white picture would look nice if you just had the people in color. I think Mac comes with a software that makes that simple. I can't imagine how hard it would be to do with Photoshop….

lasso the area you want to keep colored to select it. Right click, "select inverse", then click on Desaturate. and *BOOM*

OH MY GOODNESS I just typed the world's longest comment and lost it all. But the gist is that I think you did a GREAT job on both lighting and posing of the family pics and your outtakes made LOL. Great job on the water shots too!

The water thing gave me one of those 'holy crap' moments. lol Oh man, I hate that, losing a big comment or email. Arg !!!!

Thank you for your comment too. That means a lot because I'm still so unsure of myself when taking our own photo's. Guess I had a great teacher. (wink wink)
