Catching Up

HOLY CRAP Readers, I mean Reader, I’ve been M.I.A. for awhile.  Tends to always be that way this time of year. My excuse is the same as the last 5 years. We get hit with Christmas, then my year end hell starts for our business followed by tax preparation, we then quickly flow into A’s birthday warp speed with me feeling like I didn’t fully plan a good party for her. We’ve also taken on a new job as of the first of the year. So next year, I’ve finally got it all figured out. I’m going to plan her January birthday in June. Then this won’t be so hectic.

Without further ado, a do, uh due……here’s what we’ve been up to lately.

Did you know I used to do gingerbread houses with my step-son and nephews every single year, until they grew up and moved farther away? This is the first year that I’ve bought A one. We made one a few years ago from scratch I think. The kits are way cheaper when you only want one and don’t want all that candy left over.

Making cookies for Santa. Ironically, his favorite kind are the exact same as A’s. Go figure. Isn’t she the cutest little helper ever.

It’s a tea party for Santa !

That odd thing in the middle is for Santa. It’s 4 fake hot pink finger nails all taped together, sort of in the shape of one of those Ninga things you throw. Weird. But hey, if that’s what Santa’s into, who am I to inter-vein.

Throwing reindeer food all along the driveway. It has oats and sugar for the reindeer. Pink glitter to Santa spots us. And oh did it glitter.

Typical Christmas day stuff at home, then on to Grandma’s.

Went to this Grandma’s on a different day. I like it when Christmas is spread out on other days too.

The coolest elf project I have ever seen in all my life.

Sleepovers with friends, clay ornaments, jewelry making, tea parties, dress up, popcorn, movies, make up…..oh good lord….was there make up. Do you know how long I continued to find sparkles in the house? I think they are permanently embedded.

Why is it when your pet or kid does something they are not allowed to do, some people scold and correct right away, then others wait…grab the camera….capture the moment…then scold and correct?

She made her's at school and I was totally impressed when she brought it home. I had never seen it before (accept on your blog recently as well). Loved it.
